A little about me

Hi, I’m Chloe Jung. I’m passionate about mental health advocacy and sharing my journey of managing multiple diagnoses. Through this blog, I aim to raise awareness, reduce stigma, and offer practical advice based on my lived experience. My goal is to create a supportive space where we can openly discuss mental health, learn from each other, and find strength in our stories. Thanks for being here – I’m excited to share this journey with you.

What Led Me to Start This Blog

What drives me every day is the belief that sharing our stories can heal and empower. My own experiences with mental health have taught me that no one is alone in their struggles, and I’m passionate about creating a space where people can feel understood, supported, and encouraged. I’m motivated by the hope that, by being open and honest about mental health, I can help reduce stigma and inspire others to take charge of their well-being.

Each day, I am reminded of how powerful it is to connect with others who share similar journeys and to offer practical tools that have worked for me. Whether it's learning to manage symptoms or simply finding peace in difficult moments, I believe that even the smallest steps toward mental health can make a big difference. It’s this vision of creating a supportive community and spreading hope that keeps me going.

Why I named my blog unfortunately lucky

I chose the name "Unfortunately Lucky" because it reflects the complex, often paradoxical nature of personal growth and mental health. Life has presented its fair share of hardships, but through these challenges, I’ve found strength and resilience I didn’t know I had. At the same time, I recognize the privileges I’ve been fortunate to experience—resources, opportunities, and support that many don’t have access to. Despite the adversity I’ve faced, I’ve also been incredibly grateful for the moments of luck and the blessings in my life. The name captures this dual reality: acknowledging both the struggles and the gifts, the unfortunate circumstances and the moments of fortune. It’s rooted in a dialectical concept from DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), where two opposite truths can coexist. In this case, it’s the understanding that while life can be tough, there is also room for growth, strength, and gratitude. "Unfortunately Lucky" is a reflection of the belief that both adversity and privilege are part of my story, and this understanding helps me view my experiences in a more balanced way.
